Awaken the Rama within....Happy Dusshera

Today is Dusshera and I scrapped most of my friends and acquaintances on this day wishing them “Happy Dusshera”. It is believed that this festival signifies the supremacy and victory of Good over Evil. It inspires us to make a fresh start and cease the Ravana within.

I sometimes don’t understand why we carry the baggage of yesterday. Why do we drag yesterday evils into this brand new day? Why don’t we Give ourselves and those around us, a break and start afresh.

I believe everyday is a brand new day. Every hour is a brand new hour. Every second is a brand new second. Every moment is a brand new moment. We can't go back into the past so there's no use in living there either. Many of us carry a lot of superfluous baggage with us everyday.

Consenting to yesterdays qualms to affect today, places us in a recurring cycle. We see our troubles as too big, so instead of finding a way out we make the same mistakes over and over again. Instead of talking about how many evils we have we should be talking about the solutions to those tribulations. Maybe that’s what Lord Raam did when he faced a problem so grave? To think of it, we all have a Rama and Ravana inside us. Let me explain how.

In this modern day life, we all have our own Ramayana in our lives which is not scripted by poet Valmiki, but by us. We all write our own Ramayana where our mind is conquered by the Evils like Ego, Pride, Anger, Deceit etc. All these and more keep coming back in the form of Rama. To bail us out through these evil we need to awaken the Rama within us.

We must discover ways to become the resolution to tribulations rather than a mere donor. Ravana can be bought alive by anyone. It’s up to us how to defeat the Ravana within us.

This Dusshera , lets not feed our Ego , instead lets spread Love and abort the Evil that’s within us and make a fresh start.

Awaken the Rama!
