Rewind – Fast Forward - Pause





Today is one of those days I long for a simple hiatus or perhaps a pause button in life. And while everything and everybody was stationary , to get an instant to reflect, to explore, to widen my thoughts, to not just respond …

Don’t we all experience times in our lives when we want to take charge of our lives with a remote control? Reverse all the great parts … perhaps invest extra time savoring it … fast forward the dreadful parts … pause when you want.

We attempt to seize moments in time with photos and videos, revive them in our thoughts, smirk and weep and treasure our reminiscences. But won’t it be great to just escape the tornado of chores and find succor in some silence? When the complete world just comes to a pause and you can brace yourself to be in awe of, value, dwell …?

The lone way I can do that today is extract a few minutes out of my eventful day and emphasize on writing this post. For me, this is the moment when, in my mind, I have put a pause on the remaining world. For these few minutes I’m not thinking about awaiting laundry, uncooked meals, or cleaning up.

I just sit back, contemplate, yearn, and subsist in my reverie.

In time, something will disrupt this dream and “life” will be gazing me in my face again.
